Rubber

Rubber expansion joints are flexible expansion elements classified under axial compensators and are primarily used to absorb thermal expansions along the axis in pipeline systems. Thanks to their rubber structure with high elasticity, these compensators provide an effective solution for balancing axial movements as well as damping vibrations and noise within the system.

Due to the natural flexibility of rubber material, thermal expansions, pressure fluctuations, and minor axial misalignments in the piping system are effectively tolerated. This feature offers significant advantages, especially in building installations, heating-cooling systems, HVAC applications, pump connections, and various industrial lines.

Piping systems are generally divided into different expansion zones, which are isolated from each other using fixed points. In this way, the movement occurring in each expansion zone is absorbed solely by the axial expansion joint placed in that specific zone. The flexible structure of rubber expansion joints controls these movements while also protecting system components from shocks, vibrations, and expansion-related stresses.

Additionally, rubber expansion joints are favored for their resistance to corrosion, low maintenance requirements, and ease of installation. In this respect, they provide long-term benefits to the user in terms of both technical performance and operating costs.
